The cathedral
I was cycling around the forest with T. as we did in high school. He was still ridding his old, blue bike with red wires coming out his settle. The leaves were covering the ground yet it was not autumn. In a clearing, on the top of a small hill somewhat deep into the forest we found a church, maybe a cathedral. It seemed buried into the ground and there were 2 distinct parts coming out. A round, glass covered tower and a rectangular part which could have hold a clock tower. Yet there was no entry. Now on foot we circled around the round building coming out of the ground, finding no entry then moved to the next building to find a small staircase going down into the hill. A priest was just opening the small door at the other end.
I was now in a big protestant cathedral like hall which was rapidly filling with people. Even T. was somewhere in the middle rows. I on the other hand was somewhere in a row of benches on the left. I was completely bored and somehow remembered I had to pick R. from the train station. I had to get out of there. Waiting for the right moment I was playing with a book with glossy, black and white covers. It did not take much. I went to the back of the hall to the main doors I could not find before and exited.
Now I was outside, the building was much more out of the ground and I knew I was on an island. I began to run to the place I knew it was the shore. And I run, and I run, to get to the train station but I ended up in a circular city which was surrounding the island. I entered a house but could not find any door or window on the other side. It was like the wall of a castle. After several tries I exited the houses and started walking again.
Some voices directed me to an opening in the wall of houses. On the other side there was a small dust road similar to the one which was circling the forest from the beginning. Then it was the water. I started running to the left but the voices told me I have to go in the opposite direction and I have to hurry to catch the last boat.
I was running again on the dust road around the island. Finally I saw a place with noise and people. I was a boathouse. Several canoe like boats where ready to go. I jumped into one and almost ended up in the water when the canoe bounced on my weight. I was now in the tight canoe trying to balance with the guy in the front.
It was dark when I returned to the cathedral searching for T. Now it was fully out of the hill. I could see even some stairs going to a living complex one level beneath. I followed them and ended up looking through a large glass wall. On the other side some people were working on a big screen. I recognized the mac interface. They where processing a photo of T. It was his face which they keep then added various other text and colors: kidnapped, lost. The photo was strangely divided by lines. I moved back silently and started thinking of T. and those lines. I remembered, it was the rule of thirds.
