Madras potatos

  • 3-4 large potatoes
  • spices: curry, curcuma, black pepper, salt
  • 2 tomatoes cut in small pieces
  • cut onion and garlic
  • a bit of cheese (I used the romanian pressed cheese)


  • clean the potatoes, cut them in small pieces and boil them
  • heat some olive oil and add the spices, stir for a while until they are brown
  • add the onion and garlic and stir some more until soft

  • add the the tomatoes and stir some more (5-6 minutes) to soften the tomatoes

  • add the potatoes and stir some more. Depending on the quality of the potatoes they should or not break into pieces

  • add the end add the cheese and cover (with a ceramic cover or a plate preferably) to let it melt for a while
